As it turns out I was wrong. When my big girl saw me opening the pack of soy, linseed and sesame slices she was all over me. "They look like squished bread! You could make a sandwich out of them! You could squish them and make worms come out!" (yes, she knows that particular trick already).
Because I am a
Lo and behold, despite the seeds and the evident healthiness they both really enjoyed them. So much so they wanted another. And one for school please. Because everybody knows that bread sandwiches are SO last term.
And so my plan to have a secret stash of noms for me (and the Supertrucker if he was lucky) failed but on the (very big) upside my kids are eating something that has seeds and wholegrains and ENJOYING it. Maybe the key is to try and put them off everything from now on and watch them flock to it?
